Course description

This course in cancer metabolism provides PhD students with a comprehensive introduction to how metabolic pathways are altered in tumors and how this knowledge can be applied in both research and clinical contexts. Through lectures and seminars led by national and international experts in the field, participants will gain insight into the interplay between oncogenic signaling and tumor metabolism, and how these processes can be exploited for therapeutic purposes.

The course emphasizes active learning through interactive discussions, group projects, and critical analysis of recent research. Students will also have the opportunity to network with invited speakers and peers, and to present their own project proposals on key topics in cancer metabolism. By the end of the course, participants will have strengthened their understanding of cancer metabolism, enhanced their ability to critically evaluate experimental approaches, and developed skills that can be directly applied to their own research projects.

Basic knowledge in Tumor Cell Biology

Selection will be based on:  
1) the relevance of the course syllabus for the applicant’s individual study plan/research (according to written motivation). 
2) start date of doctoral studies (priority given to earlier start date).
