Course description
This course is designed to equip doctoral students with fundamental knowledge and skills in science communication. It aims to prepare students for effectively conveying research findings to both academic peers and a broader audience. Participants will develop practical abilities and theoretical understanding in delivering coherent messages through written and verbal communication.
Key topics covered include:
- Enhancing academic writing skills
- Adapting presentation techniques and rhetoric for various settings
- Utilizing different media (e.g., posters, projection media)
- Expressing ideas clearly and effectively
By the end of the course, students will be proficient in communicating scientific concepts and research in diverse formats and contexts.

Selection
The Research School in Health Science (FiH) has 14 places reserved for its doctoral students, for which this course is mandatory. There are six places open for other applicants.
Selection will be based on:
1) the relevance of the course syllabus for the applicant's individual study plan/research (according to written motivation).
2) start date of doctoral studies (priority given to earlier start date).
