Course description
This one-week and full-time course provides participants with an overview of the state of art of research on ischemic heart diseases and other macrovascular diseases and focuses on the areas where implementation is needed to answer relevant research questions.
During the course we will discuss the factors affecting the risk for cardiovascular disease in general and coronary heart disease in particular; the cardinal symptoms and the underlying mechanisms; novel and emerging cardiac biomarkers; established and novel preventive measures. Finally, we will address the gaps in knowledge in this research field.
The course will be given as a full-time course during five consecutive days and consists of lectures, time for own reading of the literature and preparing the journal club sessions led by experts in the cardiovascular research field.
