Course description
Overall aim of the course is to support learning and knowledge about the methodological underpinnings of visual and observation methods that are utilized within healthcare sciences research. Learners will work with data and analyses related to participant observation, photography, and video as methods while exploring these techniques in different methodological paradigms. This course is designed to have short trigger lectures alternated with active experiential learning tasks, workshops, seminars, individual assignments/project work, and presentations.

Selection
Selection will be based on:
1) candidate in research school in health science (FiH) at KI
2) candidate in the the Mälardalen area research school in healthcare science (MOF-V) or as doctoral student in the programme for doctoral education within healthcare sciences (PUF-V)
3) the relevance of the course syllabus for the applicant’s doctoral project (according to written motivation)
4) start date of doctoral studies (priority given to earlier start date).
