Course description
This five-day course, offered in collaboration with the International Vaccine Institute (IVI), provides a comprehensive overview of the field of vaccinology. The program begins with a refresher in epidemiology and immunology and then guiding participants through the vaccine development pipeline, from early discovery to clinical development, implementation, and delivery.
Participants will learn from globally recognized experts representing academia, industry, government, and non-governmental organizations. Through a combination of lectures, interactive case studies, and group discussions, the course strengthens participants’ ability to interpret scientific evidence and apply it to real-world problem scenarios. In addition to covering the scientific foundations of vaccinology, the program explores contemporary challenges such as vaccine hesitancy and the policy frameworks that shape vaccine implementation worldwide. Moreover, the course brings together PhD students, researchers, and professionals, creating a multidisciplinary learning environment that supports the development of collaborative skills.
Each year, the course content is tailored around a specific theme. The theme for 2026 is yet to be announced. For updates, please visit the IVI course webpage.
