Course description
This one-week and full-time course has been active at KI for over two decades.
This course provides the participants with knowledge about endothelial function under various physiological and pathological conditions, spanning molecular, cellular, organ, and clinical dimensions. Topics include endothelial functions in atherosclerosis, thrombosis, ischemic heart disease, inflammation, hypertension and diabetes.
Moreover, the course includes examples of in vitro and animal models, clinical studies, and state-of-the-art technology for the evaluation of endothelial cell function.
Each day of the course includes lectures, lab demonstration, discussion and team work. The participates will have chance to present a research proposal as team work for the final assessment, and get feedback from the teachers and other participants.

Selection
Selection will be based on:
1) the relevance of the course syllabus for the applicant’s doctoral project (according to written motivation).
2) start date of doctoral studies (priority given to earlier start date).
