Course description
With a clinical orientation, this course offers a comprehensive overview of major cardiometabolic conditions including prediabetes and diabetes, dyslipidemia, hypertension, and overweight/obesity from a cardiovascular perspective. Key topics include epidemiology, pathophysiology, and current treatment approaches within a clinical framework. Special attention is given to the management of diabetes across the full spectrum of cardiovascular disease, as well as to the critical appraisal and interpretation of large cardiovascular outcometrials, including those evaluating glucose-lowering therapies.The course includes lectures and seminars with experts in the field as well as group work with discussion and presentations.
