Course description

How effectively we convey messages, formulate arguments, and present our data enormously impacts our ability to achieve our professional goals: Our writing skills determine whether - and where - our scientific papers are published, how grant proposals are received, and how the public embraces our opinions.

“Write your research results and get them published” is designed to help PhD students and postdocs improve their writing skills and boost their chances of publication and funding. This course is designed to accelerate and elevate writing skills while integrating the participants’ own research (findings).

This course uses practical examples and exercises to assist scientists in becoming more proficient writers. Topics covered include the principles of good writing, strategies for writing faster and with less anxiety, the format of a scientific manuscript, abstracts, and popular science, as well as common issues related to publication and peer review.
