Course description

This course introduces paediatric oncology research to doctoral students and junior postdocs with interests in this field or related areas. Participants will gain a comprehensive overview of childhood cancer research, exploring the historical milestones that have led to cure rates approaching 90%.

The course highlights current limitations and challenges in childhood cancer treatment and demonstrates how modern molecular biology methodologies are advancing our understanding of tumorigenesis and tumour evolution. Through interactive discussions and exercises, students will have the opportunity to develop hypotheses and propose strategies aimed at improving therapies for children with cancer.

The course encourages critical thinking, creativity, and a deeper insight into the scientific and clinical foundations of paediatric oncology.
