Course description
This course is designed for doctoral students who work with survey-based research or who are interested in understanding the principles of data management. The course will cover the process of transferring survey responses to clean, accurate, useful data that can be analysed, as well as enable the students to create a data management plan that aligns with your research plan.
A good data management plan enhances your research, allows reproducibility and verifiability of your results. It demostrates your commitment to high quality research output and compliance with research data policies.
Prerequisites and Selection
Prerequisite courses, or equivalent
Knowledge about general data protection regulation (GDPR) and about documentation and handling of research data corresponding to what is included in the compulsory introduction to doctoral education at KI.
Selection
Selection will be based on:
1) the relevance of the course syllabus for the applicant’s doctoral project (according to written motivation).
2) start date of doctoral studies (priority given to earlier start date).
